Is it finally over?

It looks like the David de Gea transfer saga is finally over.

Spanish publication El Confidencial have produced a detailed report which breaks down the fallout from his client’s failed move from Old Trafford to the Bernabeu on deadline day.

According to the piece, De Gea’s agent Jorge Mendes has fallen out with Real Madrid over the deal that never happened.

Journalist Jose Manuel Garcia relayed an anecdote which should fill United fans with pure joy about a conversation between Mendes and one of his aides.

Mendes was asked, “Jorge, will I lose if I bet backing Man United to renew De Gea?“. The super-agent replied: “Absolutely not.”

The report goes on to confirm that de Gea’s agent has already spoken to people at Old Trafford about De Gea signing a contract renewal and “everything indicates that a renewal is imminent”.

It also stated the relationship between Mendes and Madrid president Florentino Perez has broken down. Mendes was a well-respected figure at the club and used to have an office at the Bernabeu, but it looks like he’s now cut his ties with the La Liga giants/

Apparently, Mendes now has three clubs who he prefers doing business with: Paris Saint-Germain, Porto and Valencia.

The article also claimed that Mendes’ falling out with Perez has also unsettled his clients at Real Madrid, which has means there are now fresh rumours about Cristiano Ronaldo possibly leaving the club.
