Manchester United’s win over Derby was a welcome break for Louis van Gaal.
The Dutchman’s future has been the subject of plenty of speculation since the home defeat to Southampton dented United’s hopes of reaching a Champions League place.
But a win over Derby, regardless of the fact they are a Championship team, may be seen as a positive for United.
In fact, an alarming stat shows just how significant the victory at Pride Park was. It was actually the first time since August that United have managed to win consecutive away fixtures.
