There’s a fine line between genius and stupidity, and today that line was drawn at two minutes.
Twitter user @DKirky21 went for a bold five-fold accumulator in the FA Cup fourth round, backing wins for Manchester City, Hull City, Blackburn Rovers, Bournemouth and Sheffield Wednesday.
Man City, Hull and Blackburn all wrapped things up early on, taking comfortable leads into the final 10 minutes, but the other two games were a little closer.
It looked like a losing bet in the 83rd minute before Marc Pugh hit Bournemouth’s winner, and again in the 87th when Wednesday were pegged back, but crucially not in the 85th – which is when Kirky opted to cash out for just shy of £400.
Now that’s timing.
