This time-lapse showing the construction of the Super Bowl halftime show is incredible

All in less than 30 seconds.

Rich Cooper

Halftime at the Super Bowl lasts about half an hour. That includes setting up the stage, the halftime show, and getting the stage off the field again.

It’s a staggering feat of coordination and execution, but in the midst of all the commercials and game analysis, you don’t actually see the stage being constructed and removed on TV.

To be honest, it wouldn’t be that interesting anyway – just a bunch of burly dudes pushing pieces of equipment around. Thank goodness for time-lapse, then.

A video taken by football writer Paul Dehner Jr. shows the sheer scale of effort and logistics that went into putting Lady Gaga’s halftime show together, and honestly, it is quite staggering.

Bam. It all happens so fast. The pieces of the stage come out and are assembled, the lighting rig goes up, the audience pours out onto the field and before you know it, Gaga’s going for it.

And then, in the blink of an eye, it’s all over and it’s back to the football. Heaven knows how much they must have practiced this. Hats off to the organisers, they really knocked it out of the park.

Wait, that’s the wrong sport, isn’t it?
