This summer will see several of Europe’s top stars drive away from their clubs for the last time.
Many top names have opted to see out their contracts in the hope of securing lucrative sign-on bonuses and high wages at a new club. Others are deemed surplus to requirements and are being allowed to leave.
Sky Sports have highlighted this XI of players who will be free agents from the start of June.
It’s pretty handy squad, with just a couple of weak points (no pace in central defence, for example).
Nonetheless, they would give most Champions League teams a decent contest.

We had a scout around at other players coming to the end of their current deals and have a few improvements.
Goalkeeper: Steve Mandanda (Marseilles)
The France goalkeeper, 30, has refused to ink a new deal and will explore his options in the summer.
Centre defence: Brede Hangeland (Crystal Palace)
Was linked with Arsenal back when he was dominating the air for Fulham. Suffered by seeing out his contract with The Cottagers and has featured intermittently for Crystal Palace since his 2014 move. Still, better than Martin Demichelis.
Right back: Branislav Ivanovic (Chelsea)
Has not had the best of seasons, this time out, but consistently the best right back in the league for almost a decade.
Centre midfield:Â Michael Carrick (Manchester United)
Has been linked with a move to the London Home for Ageing, Classy Midfielders [a.k.a Arsenal] but could cling on for another year or two at Old Trafford.
