Tottenham are looking to streamline their squad this January

Mousa Dembélé could be set to leave Tottenham Hotspur this month after Chinese Super League club Beijin Guoan made an approach to sign the midfielder.

Dembélé has struggled with injury problems over the past couple of seasons and has not played for Spurs since 3rd November. Despite his quality, Spurs can no longer rely on his fitness and are thus looking to offload him in this January transfer window.

A move to China would be a lucrative move for Spurs, while also allowing them to take a chunk of money off their wage bill.

Dembélé only has six months remaining on his contract with Spurs, who are keen to sell him now before he becomes a free agent and would be able to leave for free.

In his absence, Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko have stepped up, putting in excellent performances in central midfield, helping carry Spurs to third in the table.

Spurs are also keen to offload Vincent Janssen, Georges-Kevin N’Koudou, Fernando Llorente, Michel Vorm, and Victor Wanyama while Serge Aurier has reportedly been made available for sale or loan.
