That may beĀ Mousa Dembele’s season over.
Spurs proved that they were still very much in the title race after takingĀ a 2-0 lead in the first half at Stamford Bridge, but there was a huge moment of controversy to end the first period as both sets of players clashed on the touchline.
Away boss Mauricio Pochettino was forced to play peacemaker as Danny Rose and Willian confronted each otherĀ close-by. That caused everyone to pile in, in what was an unsavoury melee full of shoves and finger-pointing from both sides’Ā players and coaching staff.

But things got really ugly when Mousa Dembele confronted Chelsea badboy Diego Costa. Whatever the striker said didn’t go down too well with the Spurs man as he seemed to buryĀ his finger deep into Costa’s left eye. It looked like the kind of move the UFC would come down hard on.
Whether it was actually a premeditated retina ripper or just a stray finger, we’ll let you and the authorities judge, but it didn’t look pretty at all.
Willian and Rose booked. Dembele has clawed at Diego Costa's eye. In my mind the game should be abandoned. #CHETOT
