Amazon Prime Video unveiled Rooney’s documentary on Tuesday at a Sport Showcase event in London.
Martin Buckland, head of content at Prime Video UK and Nordics, said in a statement: “‘Rooney’ is an honest and intimate documentary about one of the country’s most famous sports stars who has faced untold pressure from a very young age.
“Prime members will get to hear from Wayne himself on the events and moments that shaped who he was as a player and who he is as a man.”
Rooney played over 750 games during his professional career, tallying over 300 goals. He also holds the record for the most goals for England (53).
