Chase on for Benteke
According to the Daily Mirror, Christian Benteke will wait until after Belgium’s June internationals to make a decision on his future.
The striker has hit a purple patch at Aston Villa since Tim Sherwood’s arrival, and is thought to be a £30m target for Liverpool.
The Reds could face stiff competition for his signature, however, with the Mirror suggesting Man United, Chelsea and Roma are all keeping tabs on Benteke’s situation.
Man City ‘monitor’ Ibe
Manchester City’s desperate search for young English talent has taken them to top Liverpool prospect Jordon Ibe, report the Daily Mail.
City are apparently ‘monitoring’ Ibe ahead of a possible summer swoop, with the winger stalling over a new contract at Anfield.
The 19-year-old has impressed in his breakthrough season for the Reds, but it’s thought he’s demanding better terms to make a long-term commitment to the club.
Chelsea pushing for Griezmann
Chelsea have apparently employed super-agent Jorge Mendes to act on their behalf in negotiations for Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann.
Atletico are reluctant to sell Griezmann following the Frenchman’s encouraging first season in the Spanish capital, but his £43.5m buy-out clause should be no problem for the Blues.
Jose Mourinho is also weighing up moves for Rob Green and John Ruddy should Petr Cech leave for Besiktas or Arsenal this summer.
