Arsenal will be sorry to miss Jackson
Jackson Martinez could be the solution to Arsenal’s striking problems, with the London club ready to bid £25.7m for the Colombian.
According to Metro, Arsene Wenger will continue to watch the 28-year-old at the Copa America with a view to a big-money bid, and won’t want to miss out.
Martinez has scored more than 90 goals in three seasons with Porto, and the Portuguese side look ready to allow him to leave for the right price.
Liverpool Inter the race for Kovacic
Mateo Kovacic could arrive on Anfield from Inter Milan if the two clubs are able to settle on a fee.
The Star on Sunday, citing reports from the Croatian press, suggest that the Balkan playmaker has already agreed personal terms with Liverpool.
While not a direct replacement for Steven Gerrard, Kovacic would help strengthen the Merseyside club’s midfield as they look to return to the Premier League’s top four.
Where Boro are going, they need Rhodes
After losing the Championship play-off final, Middlesbrough are preparing themselves for another promotion push by targeting Blackburn’s Jordan Rhodes.
The Mail on Sunday report that the Scottish striker would fill the gap left by Patrick Bamford, who is expected to return to parent club Chelsea.
However Boro will have to fight off the challenge of Premier League clubs to sign the frontman, who has scored more than 20 goals in each of his last three seasons.
