Cavani capture?

United to Depay through Denose

All the back pages predictably carry the news that Memphis Depay is Manchester United-bound, but he could be the first of many.

The Express claim that Louis van Gaal has a whopping £200m budget available to spend on five more big name signings.

They list Ilkay Gundogan, Mats Hummels, Nathaniel Clyne, Edinson Cavani and Gareth Bale as the wanted men on his list.

No Bale out at the Bernabeu

Whoa there on the Gareth Bale talk, suggest Sky Sports, who have been speaking to the mercurial Welshman’s agent, Jonathan Barnett.

Apparently the ex-Spurs man is determined to prolong his Real Madrid stay, despite his indifferent form of late.

Barnett is adamant that his client will remain at the Bernabeu for at least another season, and we believe him because agents never lie.

City to make Firmino offer for Roberto

The Star claim that Manchester City are to pip Premier League rivals Chelsea to the signature of Brazilian sensation Roberto Firmino.

The Hoffenheim man has been in startling form in the Bundesliga this season and is coveted throughout Europe.

But City hope that a £20m cheque (or possibly a bank transfer) will be enough to steal a march on rival suitors.
