Liverpool to get Benteke
A £32.5m move for Christian Benteke will bring Liverpool’s summer spending closer to the £100m mark, according to the Daily Express.
The Merseyside club are prepared to meet the Aston Villa striker’s release clause and make him their seventh signing of the transfer window so far.
If the move goes through, Benteke would join Roberto Firmino, Nathaniel Clyne, Danny Ings, James Milner, Adam Bogdan and Joe Gomez at Anfield.
Arsenal look to find out the price of Pedro
Arsenal are keen to steal a march on Liverpool in the pursuit of Barcelona winger Pedro, who could be available despite recently signing a new contract.
The Independent report that the London club have made first contact with the player’s representatives over a potential move.
Barcelona have already lost one winger to the Premier League this summer, with Gerard Deulofeu joining Everton.
Manchester United launch Asmir campaign
With David De Gea’s future still in the balance, Manchester United are keeping close tabs on Stoke number one Asmir Begovic.
According to the Daily Mirror, United will need to see off the challenge of Chelsea for the Bosnia international, who could cost up to £10m.
Begovic was between the sticks as Stoke held United to a 1-1 draw at the Britannia Stadium last season.
