Dropping like flies
Trent Alexander-Arnold has dropped out from the current England squad after he aggravated a back injury that he has carried since he was substituted against Burnley earlier this month.

The Liverpool right-back joins Fabian Delph, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Luke Shaw on the list of players to have withdrawn from this squad of players for the upcoming European qualifiers against the Czech Republic and Montenegro.
His withdrawal leaves Kyle Walker and Kieran Trippier as right-back options for Gareth Southgate. If Southgate decides to call-up a replacement for Alexander-Arnold, it is likely that he would look to Crystal Palace’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who was unlucky to miss out on a call-up initially.
Wan-Bissaka is training with the England U21s, managed by Aidy Boothroyd, but could be promoted to the senior squad, just as Callum Hudson-Odoi was on Monday.
The 21-year-old is still eligible for play for the Dominican Republic of Congo if he is not given a competitive cap by England, and looking at his tackling stats this season, the FA would be foolish to let him escape, as his teammate Wilfried Zaha did.
