Hard to argue with this one
Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has been named the Premier League Young Player of the Season after a stunning campaign in which he helped his side to their first league title in three decades.
The Reds’ number 66 was an ever-present during the club’s Premier League campaign, appearing in all 38 matches, and continued his exemplary form from last season’s Champions League winning campaign.
Alongside left-back Andy Robertson, Alexander-Arnold has been one of Jurgen Klopp’s most potent attacking threats, and provided 13 assists during the 2019/20 season. He also scored four times.
He has been voted the league’s best young player ahead of the other nominees, Jack Grealish (Aston Villa), Mason Greenwood, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford (Manchester United), Christian Pulisic and Mason Mount (Chelsea) and Dean Henderson (Sheffield United).

The award represents an incredible last two seasons for the Liverpool youngster, who in November 2019 was voted as the 19th best player in the world at the Ballon d’Or awards, the highest rank for a full-back.
Over the past three campaigns, he has 26 assists, and has for many people redefined what is expected of an attacking full-back. Alexander-Arnold has also been nominated for the Premier League Player of the Year award, alongside Liverpool teammates Jordan Henderson and Sadio Mane, as well as Danny Ings (Southampton), Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City), Nick Pope (Burnley) and Jamie Vardy (Leicester City).
