Troy Deeney is a down to earth guy
Acknowledging the cliché, Troy Deener is not like other footballers. He enjoys back and forth with fans – he has revealed that he reads all the comments he receives on social media, both positive and negative – he is brutally honest in interviews and unapologetically himself.
Having rebuilt his reputation after a spell in prison, he is now a local hero in Watford and one of the club’s most adored players ever.
And he will now be a favourite among a certain group of football fans after his recent act of banterous generosity.
Irish journalist Killian Woods sent a transfer request that he drafted up requesting that his friend allows him to bring in Deeney in their Fantasy Premier League draft league.
Deeney signed the letter, sent it back, and Woods publicly thanked him on Twitter. Unfortunately for Woods, his competitor, Calibhe Doherty, has refused to oblige and insists upon keeping Deeney in his squad.
Shoutout to @T_Deeney for personally signing this transfer request for me. @DohertyCailbhe has been made aware of the letter, but refuses to respect the player's wishes #BringHimHome pic.twitter.com/6rpHb9YJzW

Worth a shot.
