A Wayne Rooney winner at Anfield might have seemed like the kick-start Manchester United’s season had needed.
However, less thanĀ a week later, the pressure was cranked right back up on Louis van Gaal, as Charlie Austin marked his debut for Southampton with an 87th minute winner at Old Trafford.
Yet again, Manchester United supporters were fuming as their side lost more ground on fourth place.
Inside the stadium, supporters made their feelings clear, as was the case on Twitter.
Sounds like a revolt now, please stop this nonsense. This United team is pathetic. #Mufc #LVG #LVGOUT

Unsurprisingly, plenty of fingers were being pointed at the United manager…
Louis van Gaal shouldāve been sacked after Norwich in December. A month later and nothingās changed apart from a couple of underserving wins

Seriously, how does Louis Van Gaal still have a job?

Another defeat, and another failure to score for the homeside. Yet Ā£4m looks an absolute bargain deal for Charlie Austin.
Ā£4mil, FOUR MILLION! still an absolute bargain that @chazaustin9
