Twitter reacts as Arsenal lose two key players to injury in nightmare first half

Having briefly topped the Premier League over the weekend, many might have expected Arsenal’s meeting with Sheffield Wednesday to be a formality.

However, the first half couldn’t have gone any worse for Arsene Wenger, after watching his side go two goals down and lose two key players to injury.

First up, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain left the field with a problem after just five minutes.

But soon after, his replacement, Theo Walcott, was also forced off.

Losing Walcott, who has been in fantastic form of late, was clearly a blow – and some were quick to point the finger at Arsene Wenger.

But not everyone agreed it was the manager’s fault.

As Sheffield Wednesday took a 2-0 lead, the wider impact of the two injuries on Arsenal’s title aspirations was not lost on those on Twitter.
