It’s difficult to think of a fall from grace as strange as Eden Hazard’s over the last 12 months.
This time last year, the Chelsea playmaker was deservedly named the PFA Player of the Year as he led the Blues to the Premier League title.
But instead of using the award as a springboard to establishing himself among the world elite, the Hazard has regressed badly and has been one of the main culprits in the failure to mount any sort of a title defence at Stamford Bridge this year.
The Belgian has been slowly turning things around as of late, and on Saturday afternoon he finally did what he has failed to do in almost a year – score a league goal.
Having gone almost a full year without finding the net, his long-range strike to put Chelsea 2-0 up over Bournemouth caught some Twitter users off guard.
