Tyson Fury doesn’t think he’s a good enough role model to deserve the accolade of Sports Personality of the Year.
The boxer is fourth-favourite for the award after his victory over Wladimir Klitschko, but a petition to remove him from the shortlist over allegations of homophobia attained more than 45,000 signatures.
Fury claims he was misquoted over alleged links between homosexuality and paedophilia, but still does not believe he would be a worthy winner of the trophy.
Hopefully I don't win @BBCSPOTY as I'm not the best roll model in the world for the kids, give it to someone who would appreciate it, 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Previous SPOTY winners include fellow boxers Joe Calzaghe and Lennox Lewis, while Andy Murray is the favourite to win this year’s award.
Murray was victorious in 2013, and is expected to pick up his second gong after leading Great Britain to a first Davis Cup success in more than 70 years.
