After recently hinting that his fighting days were done, Tyson Fury has seemingly arrived at a decision on his future.
Despite his best intentions to shed the weight he’d put on over the course of his extended break away from the ring, return to reclaim his world titles and make the most money he ever made in his career via an all-British clash with Anthony Joshua; it would appear as though the undefeated heavyweight has retired.
Fury took to Instagram on Wednesday afternoon to deliver a pretty definitive full stop on his career.

“Been very blessed in my life & career achieve the upmost in boxing, was a epic journey along the way,” Fury wrote. “Thanks ?? to all the fans that supported & believed in me along the way. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. ❤️❤️ THE END.”
After upsetting Wladimir Klitschko in Dusseldorf in 2015, Fury’s time at the top was short-lived as he saw rematches with the Ukrainian cancelled due to a series of issues on Fury’s part; including injury, psychological troubles and traces of cocaine showing up in a blood test.
It was believed that a lucrative fight with Anthony Joshua was inevitable and a date was even put in place by Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn.
But amid an ongoing battle to have his boxing licence renewed, Fury’s patience seemed to have worn thin and he explained to Box Nation how he’d be content with his career even if he couldn’t fight again.
“My time was two years ago,” Fury said a fortnight ago.

“If I come back there will be an announcement but if I don’t then goodbye.
“For this game, you’ve got to really love it and want it – you’ve got to be very, very hungry.
“I’m undefeated – second in the history of heavyweight champions to retire unbeaten, behind Rocky Marciano.
“I’ve unified the full division, beat the man who couldn’t be beaten – do I need to do any more?”
To be fair, we should perhaps take the announcement with a grain of salt because Fury has retired via social media before only to overturn his decision shortly after.
Who knows what to expect from the unpredictable heavyweight?
