Tyson Fury is making up for lost time

After over two years out of the ring, Tyson Fury now refuses to grant himself too many days off as he aims to recapture his fighting prime.

‘The Gypsy King’ should have spent Christmas proudly shining the WBC heavyweight belt after his stunning performance against Deontay Wilder last month but either incompetence or shady judging ruled the contest a split draw.

The disappointing outcome could have sent a lesser man down the wrong path but Fury proved that he has turned over a new leaf for good and returned to training last weekend looking lean and determined.

Fury is putting the work in at MTK Marbella under the tutelage of head coach Ben Davison and appears to be sharper than ever in brand new footage of some pad work.

Fury, who weighed in at 256 lbs for his clash with Wilder after shedding more than 140 lbs from his career-heaviest weight, actually looked to have lost weight over the festive period.

The undefeated Brit also sent a message to Wilder amid claims from promoter Frank Warren that talks are underway for a rematch in 2019.

“I’m just maintaining my fitness really. I’m as fit now as I was then, same kind of thing,” Fury told BT Sport.

“I’m ready to fight. Wilder, let’s get the fight made, don’t shit yourself now mate!”
