Early on Monday it appeared the deal was sealed – only for stories to break that paperwork had not been completed in time.

But news that the transfer was dead has been swiftly followed with yet another twist. Reports from Spain are suggesting that the relevant paperwork was sent before the deadline had passed and that Real Madrid will appeal to push the transfer through.
Last RT; Cadena SER reporting that it seems Utd sent the documents at 23:59. Real Madrid would like accept that document to close the deal.

United also seem keen to finalise the deal, with the club indicating that the fax was sent before the deadline.
United say they have the TMS receipt proving documentation in on time over De Gea. Navas deal doesn't matter as can be completed tomorrow
