Union Jack stomped all over during intense promo from Yoel Romero

Yoel Romero is pissed.

The top UFC middleweight contender sounds like he is suddenly less bothered about getting gold wrapped around his waist and more concerned with vengeance.

Romero missed out on a championship belt when, earlier this month, he was bested over five rounds for the interim 185lbs title in UFC 213’s closely contested main event with Robert Whittaker.

Whittaker outstruck the 40-year-old and displayed impeccable takedown defence to set up a unification clash with Michael Bisping, who made headlines with his behaviour Octagonside.

‘The Count’, in a bid to get under Romero’s skin, ripped up a miniature Cuban flag as he watched the fight unfold in Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena.

Romero’s reaction in the media centre after the fight chilled reporters to the bone and, now that he has had time to digest Bisping’s controversial gesture, he’s hell-belt on getting his hands on the brash Brit.

‘The Soldier of God’ is back in Cuba now and has recorded a WWE-style promo, aimed at coaxing Bisping into a grudge match.

“You need to have respect for my country,” Romero roared. “This is Cuba!

“Hey Dana [White], give me this fucking boy. He needs respect for these people.”

With that, the camera pans to a group of Romero’s friends stomping on the Union Jack before he stands on it himself to close out the clip.

Belt or no belt, we’d love to see this fight go down before both men hang up their gloves.
