We all know that Hector Bellerin is pretty speedy, but to suggest he’s quicker than Usain Bolt might seem a bit far-fetched.
However, a report by the BBC claimed that the Arsenal man is quicker than the Olympic champion – over a distance of 40 metres.
The Spaniard covered the distance in 4.41 seconds, bettering the time it took Bolt to reach the 40m mark as he broke the current 100m world record back in 2009.
Bolt, however, is unconcerned at the suggestions that Bellerin may be able to rival him in the speed stakes.
“These stories make me laugh,” he told Eurosport.
“Footballers are very fast over the first 10-20 metres – that is what they train for. I train to be fast over 100 metres or 200 metres.”
