It appears Manchester United’s centre-backs have different ideas about how to spend their time off
Just when you thought that we had got our fill of stories about the antics of Man United’s defenders while on holiday, another spectacular, if a little more wholesome one, appears.
Manchester United centre-back Victor Lindelof has reportedly helped rescue an old lady’s handbag after it was burgled by a thief on a bike.
The story, reported by Aftonbladet and brought to our attention by the good people at Sport Witness, alleges that the defender chased after the thief, caught up with him (we’re shocked too) and held him in what was essentially a citizen’s arrest until the real police arrived.
Victor Lindelöf, the local hero:
“A man on a bicycle snatched the handbag from a woman in her 90s in central Västerås.
Then Victor Lindelöf came to the rescue. The football star ran and held onto the suspected thief until the police arrived”https://t.co/AlOwz6CJnb

The incident occurred in the 26-year-old’s home town of Vasteras on Monday morning. The woman, in her 90s, had her bag snatched in the centre of the city, when Lindelof ran to the rescue.
Aftonbladet contacted Manchester United for comment on the incident, and their response appeared to confirm the rumours that it was indeed Lindelof who carried out the rescue.
“Victor feels that he just did what anyone else would have done in that situation,” they report the spokesman as saying.
Lindelof’s heroics differ ever so slightly from the situation involving his defensive partner Harry Maguire, who was last week arrested on the Greek island of Mykonos and charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, following a drunken brawl on Thursday night.
