Riley was fighting on the undercard of the Amir Khan vs Kell Brook fight
Viddal Riley joked that he missed out on a £10,000 bonus from internet superstar KSI after he failed to stop his opponent on the undercard of Amir Khan’s fight against Kell Brook on Saturday.
Social media phenomenon KSI promised the cash bonus on his Instagram in the build up to the fight – providing that Riley would be able to stop his opponent Willbeforce Shihepo however he was unable to and settled for a points victory instead.
The 24-year-old first rose to fame when he was appointed as KSI’s trainer for his fight against Joe Weller before eventually focusing on his own career as a professional boxer.
After initially singing with Floyd Mayweather’s promotional company, Riley recently returned to his boyhood home of London to sign with BOXXER.
Riley went on to make his debut in 2018 and competed in his fifth professional fight on Saturday – maintaining his 100 per cent record in the process.
His performance was a dominant one as he controlled the ring and was rarely tested by the experienced Shihepo as Riley secured another victory to continue his rise through the ranks.
After adding another win to his collection, Riley refereed to KSI’s earlier wager, letting him know that his money was safe with him whilst acknowledging the lessons he learned from the fight.
“JJ, you’re lucky, you get to keep your 10k!” he told Sky Sports.

“It feels good to finally fight in the UK. I want to thank everyone that’s come out to watch tonight and everyone watching at home.
I learnt a lot from that fight, I didn’t just roll the guy out there, I learned a lot from that fight and that’s what I’m supposed to do at this stage of my career.”
