50-50 collisions are an everyday occurrence in football but we’re always told that it’s the person who pull out of tackles that comes out worse.
Try telling that to Newell’s Old Boys ‘keeper Ezequiel Unsain. He’s currently facing a month and a half on the sidelines after this horrific accidental collision with the former Man Utd, Man City and Juventus striker, Carlos Tevez.
With Boca Juniors 3-0 up, Tevez chased a through ball but as he was bearing down on goal, the ‘keeper rushed off his line to narrow down the angle. Unfortunately, Tevez couldn’t fully hurdle over Unsain and the sickening collision ended up with the ‘keeper suffering a double fracture to his jaw.
Although this appears to be completely accidental, it isn’t the first time that Tevez has left his mark on an opponent since returning to Argentina. Last year, he broke an opponent’s leg in a game against Argentinos Juniors.
Boca went on to win the game against Newell’s Old Boys 4-1.
