Manuel Neuer might as well start playing outfield from now on.
Bayern Munich remain unbeaten in the Bundesliga this season after seeing off Schalke at the weekend. The German behemoths’ 3-1 victory saw their record improve to a remarkable 13 wins and one draw this campaign.
Second place Borussia Dortmund are already trailing the league leaders by eight points, after notching up nine wins, two draws and two losses this season.
However, BT Sport European Football show produced a truly ridiculous statistic on Sunday night that proves that world class shot-stopper Neuer’s is sort of surplus to requirements at the club. They claim that if every shot on target against Bayern Munich this season went in, they’d still be on top of the league.
In fairness to the German shot-stopper, one pundit reckons that Neuer’s unique goalkeeping style actually contributed to this being the case, rather than him playing absolutely no role in it.
Incredible stat from @acjimbo – if every shot @FCBayern faced this season had gone in, they'd still be top! #BTEFS https://t.co/Gwxhd44whM
