England’s preparations for Euro 2016 got off to a strong start with a 3-2 win over Germany in Berlin.

The World Champions took a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Toni Kroos and Mario Gomez but they could not hold on and were turned over by an impressive English side.

But Tottenham striker Harry Kane got Roy Hodgson’s men back into the game with a superb finish after a cheeky Cruyff turn.

With England searching for an equaliser, it was substitute Jamie Vardy who found the net with an exquisite flicked finish.

The Leicester striker will be annoyed to have not started the game, but he showed everyone what with one of his first touches of the game.

In added time, Tottenham defender Eric Dier grabbed the winner with a bulleted header from a corner.

The Three Lions have struggled in the past to find reliable strikers to fire them to victory in major tournaments, but in Kane and Vardy they boast the two top scorers in the Premier League.

It will be interesting to see how Wayne Rooney fits into the squad when he returns from injury.
