We’ve all heard of the banter bus, but what’s with this rail ribbing?
Everyone is entitled to take the p*ss and have a laugh. In fact many of us positively revel in making mirth of our footballing heroes. It just seems a little strange when it’s out of the blue…from a train company.
Ahead of England’s friendly with Germany in Berlin on Saturday evening, it was confirmed that Gary Cahill would captain the side in the absence of Wayne Rooney, just as he had done against Estonia last October.
But on Friday, completely out of the blue, Virgin Trains decided to mock the Chelsea man by posting the following tweet from their official account. The suggestion being he’s not worthy of the armband.
That may or may not be true, depending on your opinion, but it least his challenges aren’t as late as the Virgin service…
