Wales have reportedly been charged by Uefa for celebrating their Euro 2016 knockout round victories with their children.
Squad members invited their kids to join them on the pitch after the second-round victory over Northern Ireland, and again after defeating Belgium in the quarter-final.
However, there were suggestions ahead of the semi-final defeat to Portugal that Uefa were none too happy with the “encroachment”, and now it seems European football’s governing body have gone as far as issuing the Welsh FA with an official charge.
WalesOnline has run quotes from FAW Trust chief executive Neil Ward explaining that the body was “disappointed” with Uefa’s actions.
“I think it was hugely popular among the people in the ground to see those young kids on the pitch,” Ward said.
“Some of those goals that were scored in front of the fans (by the kids) got as big a cheer as some of the other goals scored in the game.
“It was just magical to see and it again shows you the openness and togetherness of this squad.”
The Wales squad were treated to an open-top bus parade after returning home, having matched the best ever European Championships run from a British or Irish nation.
