Forget Philipp Lahm and Xabi Alonso playing the final games of their illustrious football careers, Bayern Munich’s final game of the season was all about everyone’s favourite bespectacled early 2000s songstress, Anastacia.
Well, perhaps in her mind at least.
Because nothing says ‘Bundesliga champions celebration’ quite like a rendition of some of the American singer-songwriter’s more recognisable songs, Anastacia was booked as the half-time entertainment for Bayern’s game with Freiburg on Saturday afternoon, and my, didn’t she put on a show?
In fact, Anastacia was so determined to finish her performance of I’m Outta Love, the players were left standing around on the pitch waiting to to kick off the second half for a good five minutes.
Here, have a look. It’s brilliantly awkward.

When she was eventually done, the players were made to wait even longer for the temporary stage upon which she’d been performing to be cleared away. It was all rather ridiculous.
Alonso’s face says it all in the footage below.

Bayern, who have already been confirmed Bundesliga champions, were leading 1-0 at the break through Arjen Robben’s goal.
Perhaps like many, many others, Anastacia just wanted to prolong the career of Lahm and Alonso.
