The kid’s got talent
Manchester United play Liverpool tonight at the Michigan Stadium in a pre-season friendly. Both teams fielded weakened sides with their World Cup stars still resting after a gruelling World Cup. But there was still plenty of talent on show.
United lined up with almost the same side that beat AC Milan on penalties in Los Angeles, with a midfield trio of Ander Herrera, Scott McTominay and Andreas Pereira in midfield.
The latter has stolen the spotlight in pre-season, with some complete performances in the middle of the park, staking a claim for a place in the United first team next season after spending the past two years out on loan at Granada and Valencia.
Liverpool took the lead through a Sadio Mané penalty in the 28th minute but just three minutes later, United equalised with a stunning free kick from Pereira.
The young Brazilian bent the ball up and over the wall into the top corner, leaving Liverpool’s young goalkeeper Kamil Grabara in no man’s land. Watch and bask in its glory.

Surely, he won’t be farmed out on loan again.
