Watch Arsenal reject Serge Gnabry score net-busting volley for Werder Bremen

He's Gunner be a star

Simon Lloyd

It was a goal fit to win any game… Just a shame it was a meaningless consolation in a 4-1 battering.

Nevethelesss, Serge Gnabry’s goal for Werder Bremen on Saturday tea time was a bit of all right, hence why we’ve written this.

Tipped for big things during his early days with Arsenal, Gnabry made the move back to his native Germany at the back end of the last transfer window, after failing to convince Arsene Wenger that he was worthy of regular first team football.

With his side four down on a miserable afternoon in Monchengladbach, Gnabry showed a glimpse of why he was worthy of such hype as he smashed home a sublime right-footed volley with 20 minutes to go.

Take a look:

Gnabry’s former employers recorded a 4-1 victory away at Hull earlier in the day, but word of the German youngster’s thunderbastard of a finish was enough to make some Gooners question why their club let him slip from their clutches.

Following their win on Hunberside, Gnabryless Arsenal host Chelsea in a London derby next Saturday before welcoming FC Basel to The Emirates in the Champions League a few days later.
