WATCH: Borussia Dortmund seal comeback win with 95th minute free-kick

“He must have a foot like a (very graceful) traction engine!”

Borussia Dortmund were sitting top of the Bundesliga ahead of their game on Saturday afternoon, sitting a point ahead of stuttering holders Bayern Munich as they continue their impressive renaissance under Lucien Favre.

Their form in both the league and in Europe has been stellar so far this year and they currently sit alongside Atletico Madrid on top of Group A of the Champions League on six points.

They went into their game with Augsburg understandably confident, but for a long period of time looked set to lose both their momentum and the match.

Falling behind to an Alfred Finnbogsaon goal in the 22nd minute, the home side equalised through substitute Paco Alcacer after the hour in what looked to be your average draw.

Then, one can only assume, the space time-continuum ripped open, allowing a wondrous hellscape of madness to seep into the Westfalenstadion and cause scenes the likes of which those in attendance will never forget.

Augsburg retook the lead through Phillip Max in the 71st minute, before Barcelona loan striker Alcacer once again leveled the score nine minutes later.

Dortmund then took the lead themselves, through Mario Gotze in the 84th minute. Surely that was that, you say? Well no, the hellscape universe of fun had not stopped there. Augsburg drew the game level again three minutes later, via Michael Gregoritsch.

That appeared that, the referee signalled four minutes of injury time and that passed. Then Dortmund won a free-kick. And then, Paco Alcacer did this. End scene.
