Liverpool fans will appreciate Christian Benteke’s ambition – but the timing of these comments has proved rather unfortunate.
Prior to Saturday’s game away to West Ham, the Liverpool striker spoke about how the Reds should be aiming to win the Premier League, and how it’s a possibility this season due to the open nature of the competition.
Benteke had scored two winning goals in Liverpool’s last two games, leaving the club five points off the Champions League spots, so things were looking up. Right?

Maybe next year, Christian.
Andy Carroll looking worth every penny of the £2.5m more that Liverpool paid for him than Christian Benteke today.

never been easy to understand why rodgers spent £30m+ on benteke when his first act at LFC had been to get rid of andy carroll

Percentage of aerial duels won by Christian Benteke thus far: 10%
