What do you make of this then?
Paul Pogba was in LA on Wednesday to attend the ESPY (Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly) Awards, and presumably it was a nice excuse to escape the incessant rumours about his immediate future. The gossip about whether he will remain at Juventus or join Manchester United must be tiring even for him.
Alas, if he was hoping to take a break from all that he was sadly mistaken. Speaking to ESPN, the cheeky presenters decided to ambush him with the kits of Juve (fair enough), Real Madrid and Manchester United, and see what he thought of each.
He was happy to refer to Juventus as his team, and his “family”. When describing Real’s shirt he was very factual and said it at “white”. He also explained (as if it was a general knowledge test) that they’d won the Champions League this year.
When handed the United shirt, he laughed and said “It’s red!” before getting all sentimental and admitting: “It was my first family.”
The host then pressed him, asking how he would react if Mourinho picked up the phone and requested his services. Pogba very diplomatically responded: “I don’t know. Let’s see. I’m very happy at Juventus.”
Make of all that what you will…
