The rivalry between Manchester United and Liverpool reached fever pitch this week as the two sides met at Anfield.
While the game wasn’t exactly a classic, there was plenty of back and forth between both sets of fans during the 0-0 match.
As you would expect between the two most successful clubs in England, any meeting between United and the ‘Pool isn’t a laughing matter but this meeting between Jose Mourinho and John Bishop most certainly was.
The Manchester United manager and the Scouse comedian locked horns in an epic battle to try and make each other laugh by using ‘so bad that they’re great’ jokes. While we’re more familiar with seeing a tense, combative and edgy Mourinho on the touchlines, it’s moments like this that remind you of his unique charisma and charm.
It’s also worth remembering that Mourinho, when he was manager of Real Madrid,  also went out of his way to help referee Mark Halsey after he was diagnosed with cancer.
The segment is part of Channel 4’s evening of programming that’s dedicated to #StandUpToCancer which airs on Friday from 7pm. Take a look and have a laugh.
