With Thierry Henry providing analysis for the BBC during Euro 2016, it was inevitable that the topic of his infamous handball against Ireland during the 2010 World Cup play-off would be raised.
Despite losing 2-1 to the French in Lyon, Martin O’Neill’s men were privy to some fair officiating this afternoon as the referee called the two biggest decisions correctly, Shane Duffy’s red card and the award of Ireland’s penalty in the opening stages.
The former Arsenal and Barcelona striker was in the BBC studio on Sunday evening and the trio of Gary Lineker, Alan Shearer and Rio Ferdinand gleefully took the mickey out of him while discussing Paul Pogba’s foul on Shane Long.
