Manchester City appear destined to win the Premier League by a good distance this season.
Currently sitting pretty with a 15 point cushion at the top of the table, it already seems like a question of when and not if.
Things might have looked less clear-cut had last month’s Manchester derby panned out differently. Prior to kick off at Old Trafford, the gap between City and second-place United was eight points. Although this was still a healthy margin, a United win that day would’ve reduced the gap to five points, perhaps enough to make the title race an actual race.
City were, of course, victorious that day. Having dominated possession, they took a lead in the first half through David Silva. Although this was cancelled out by Marcus Rashford’s equaliser before half-time, United couldn’t find a response to a goal from Nicolas Otamendi shortly after half-time. Though United might have equalised through Romelu Lukaku late on, City were comfortable for much of the game’s later stages, and in no rush to restart the game when the ball went out of play.
Judging by the footage below, it appears City were also in no rush during the first half, too. In it, we see Kyle Walker preparing to take a throw-in by the corner flag at some point in the first half. Passed the ball by a United ballboy, the England international appears to let the ball bounce off his foot and roll away from him, down the slope. When the youngster tries to pass him the ball for a second time, the same thing happens, visibly angering United supporters in the crowd.
It appears many people missed the incident at the time of the derby, with over 5,000 people retweeting it since it was shared on Twitter on Wednesday.

Although many United fans have criticised Walker for the incident, City supporters have suggested the England international was simply asking the ballboy to hand him the ball.
