That headline might be a slight exaggeration but this is still quite spectacular.
He showed countless of times throughout his rugby career what a fierce competitor he was and even in retirement, the great Paul O’Connell hasn’t lost that competitive edge.
Appearing alongside Captain Phil Tuffnell and AP McCoy on a Question of Sport on Wednesday night, the former Irish rugby captain managed to solve the most ridiculously difficult puzzle with only the slightest of hints.
Both teams had to answer questions in order to reveal clues (letters in this case) to the two-word answer, which host Sue Barker would only reveal was “anything to do with sport”.
With just two out of the 23 spaces filled, the big man managed to correctly guess Borussia Mönchengladbach, much to the delight of the audience and his teammates.
Not that Paul was that impressed, mind, he was more pissed off with the fact that his team only got two points and quite rightly so too.
Check out Paul’s moment of magic in the clip below.
Hats off to the man. Absolutely incredible.
