Kane scored the spot kick
Tottenham took the lead against Chelsea after 26 minutes this evening after VAR overruled Michael Oliver’s initial decision to rule Harry Kane offside, and award a penalty.
As Kane raced through on goal, he beat Chelsea keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga to the ball and was tripped by the Spaniard, but the assistant referee had already raised his flag for offside.
However, the video assistant referee, commonly known as VAR, had a word in Oliver’s ear and informed him that Kane was in fact onside, and Spurs should therefore be awarded a penalty.

Drama at Wembley! VAR is used to clarify firstly that Kane was onside and secondly that he was fouled. Kane emphatically dispatches the penalty.
