Wayne Rooney has rolled back the years against Derby.
The Manchester United captain’s form has experienced an upturn in recent weeks, as he has scored four goals in the club’s first four games of the year.
Against Derby County on Friday night in the FA Cup, Rooney scored a goal reminiscent of something he would’ve scored back when the two sides last played each other in January 2009.
The England forward collected a pass on the edge of Derby’s penalty area, turned away from the defender and curled it past Scott Carson.
"That is a special, special goal!" @WayneRooney fires @ManUtd ahead. 🔥 #EmiratesFACup https://t.co/3i1BJjzP46

Was he offside when he collected the ball though?
Rooney or United fans won’t care, he’s already beaten last year’s total for away goals.
3 – Wayne Rooney has now scored in as many away games in 2016 as he did in 2015 (3). Improvement.
