A West Brom and a Bristol City fan both collapsed
West Bromwich Albion’s Championship fixture against Bristol City was suspended twice on Saturday due to two separate medical emergencies in the crowd.
The start of the match was delayed by 15 minutes after a West Brom supporter collapsed in the West Stand. Paramedics and ambulance staff were quickly on the scene to treat the man, before he was placed on a stretcher and taken to hospital.
The Baggies tweeted to say the game had been delayed “owing to a medical emergency involving a fan inside the stadium”.
“Our thought and prayers are with the supporter. We’re all with you,” the club added.
Thankfully, the support was conscious and gave a thumbs-up gesture to the crowd as he exited the stadium.
