West Ham have £27m bid for Genoa’s Krzysztof Piątek rejected

West Ham’s valuation of the Polish striker appears to be lower than that of Genoa

Genoa striker Krzysztof Piątek was reportedly subject to a £27 million bid from Premier League club West Ham United which was rejected by his club.

Piatek arrived at the Italian club in the summer and has been a revelation in Serie A, scoring 13 goals in 19 league games – more than half of all the goals Genoa have scored this season.

Only Cristiano Ronaldo (14) has scored more league goals in Italy than the Pole this season, and the Portuguese striker’s former club Real Madrid are said to be strongly interested in singing the 23-year-old.

The report, published by Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla, also claims that AC Milan are preparing a bid for the striker who – in the space of six months – has become one of the hottest properties in European football.

It is understood that Genoa are holding out for a bid closer to £32 million for the man who they signed for slightly over £3.5 million in the summer.

West Ham are desperately seeking reinforcements up front in the January transfer window, with Austrian talisman and top scorer Marko Arnautovic reportedly seeking a move to China and back up Javier Hernandez keen on a loan move to Valencia.
