Wladimir Klitschko won’t fight Tyson Fury again for a very understandable reason

Can't blame him...

Wladimir Klitschko won’t fight Tyson Fury again, and you can’t argue with the reasoning.

Klitschko lost his world heavyweight titles to the British boxer in November 2015 in Düsseldorf, Germany.

The Ukrainian’s defeat by unanimous decision was a massive shock, with few giving Fury a chance before the bout.

The pair were due to have a rematch on July 9 in Manchester, but Fury sprained his ankle in training and fight was postponed until October 29.

However, he was then declared medically unfit to fight, later vacated his titles and was suspended by the British Boxing Board of Control.

Neither man has been in the ring since their bout almost 18 months ago.

Klitschko is due to fight IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua on April 29 at Wembley, and Fury has said he’s planning on returning to the ring.

However, even if Klitschko earns a victory over Joshua, he won’t ever fight Fury again, as the postponed rematch resulted in him losing a year of his career.

“Nobody of us ever wants to deal with this group of people again, especially including myself,” Bernd Boente, Klitschko’s manager, told Sky Sports.

“It was a lost year and don’t forget Wladimir is not 18-years-old and starting as a pro. Nobody wants that anymore.”

Klitsckho’s manager says his fighter is happy that, in Joshua, he’ll face a “way better opponent” and will be involved in “a more interesting fight.”

“It’s at Wembley Stadium, it’s a huge audience, this is the fight of the year, it cannot be better.”
