Yannick Carrasco provides transfer update to tease Arsenal fans further

At this stage his middle name should simply be “Transfer Saga”

Yannick Carrasco has once again discussed his future, just days after confirming that his side, Chinese Super League team Dalian Yifang, had received an offer from Europe for his services.

The 25-year-old attacker departed Atletico Madrid for China in 2018 and has made 25 appearances in his time there. He has struggled to settle however and has made no secret of his desire to return to Europe at the soonest opportunity.

“Negotiations are going well,” he said in a recent interview with Spanish outlet SPORT.

“I am aware that I am an important player for the team but I hope they let me leave.

“From a personal and family point of view, I would like to return to Europe.”

Carrasco has long been linked with a move to the Premier League – and to Arsenal in particular – and he stated during the interview that while the English game is more physical than LaLiga, he is capable of handling it.

“The Premier League is more physical, but there are also a lot of spaces to run into.”

It remains unclear whether Arsenal will be able to afford the player, regardless of his personal interest in making the deal happen, with Unai Emery likely to have little to spend in the summer.

Then again, he might be talking about Everton or Bournemouth, who knows?
