The roast was cold. I believe they call that an oxymoron
No, you’re an oxymoron.
Belgium are arguably one of the favourites remaining in this year’s European Championships, so we’ve been taking a look at the team who entered the tournament ranked number one by UEFA to see whether their spirit is as strong as the Three Lions’.
In our research, we came across this amusing video for PwC (PricewaterhouseCoopers) Belgium – a global professional services network delivering assurance, tax and business consultancy and more – where the Red Devils (no, not them ones) answer questions about their teammates.
It features Nacer Chadli and Thibaut Courtois; Yannick Carrasco and Simon Mignolet – but it’s the face-off between Eden Hazard and Youri Tielemans that had us chuckling. After the Real Madrid winger tries to banter off his teammate, the Leicester City playmaker casually ends his career.

Asked to do impression of Youri when he scores, Hazard jokes that “he doesn’t score” – to which Tielemans simply points out: “I scored more than you this year”. Oof. Check yourself before you wreck yourself, Eden.
It’s safe to say that Hazard’s time at Real Madrid, albeit blighted by injuries and fitness issues, hasn’t been plain sailing; Belgium’s victory over Finland was the first time he has played a full 90 minutes since November 2019! Yikes.
Now, of course, this little back and forth is clearly light-hearted banter but still, not exactly bigging each other up. With that in mind, let’s make mountains out of molehills and extrapolate that England’s team chemistry is better than Belgium’s.
Might as well – if it’s coming home then we need every edge we can get.
