All the things that happen in one minute on the internet, in one graph

Every minute counts.

Carl Kinsella

They say a week is a long time in politics.

Well, those people should see all the things that can happen in 60 seconds on the internet.

This infographic, put together by the people at Excelacom, reveals some very interesting details about our online habits in 2016.

Perhaps most strikingly, dating app Tinder is reporting just under 1,000,000 swipes per minute – though we don’t know how many are right-swipes and how many are left. Just to be clear, this translates to 1,399,999,680 a day.

Instant messaging giant Snapchat is reporting just over half a million photos shared per minute. Facebook are recording 700,000 log-ins, and Google has 2.4 million search queries.

Instagram appears to be one of the less popular apps, with 38,000 posts to their database each minute. Twitter is faring better with 347,222 new tweets each minute.

If this doesn’t make you want to put your phone away, nothing will. After all, we know for a fact that you’re checking your phone FAR too regularly.
