Mind is money…
Elon Musk has said that he worked “to the edge of sanity” whilst developing SpaceX before claiming that every minute he spends thinking helps earn his electric car company Tesla $1m.
Talking to TED boss Chris Anderson on Monday, Musk offered a unique look behind the curtain and revealed that not only is he technically homeless – but he’s literally getting million-dollar ideas all the time.
“The thing that does make sleeping difficult is that, every good hour or even minute of thinking about Tesla and SpaceX has such a big effect on the company that I really try to work as much as possible you know, to the edge of sanity basically,” the 50-year-old tech mogul said.
He continued, suggesting that “later this year”, every “high quality minute of thinking” will generate a huge sum of cash for Tesla.
“If Tesla is doing $2bn a week in revenue, that’s $300m a day, seven days a week. There are many instances where a half hour meeting, where I was able to improve the financial outcome of the company by $100m in a half-hour meeting.”
The father of two, who recently denied having a threesome with Amber Heard and Cara Delevingne, also claimed that “almost anyone” could afford a ticket to Mars. He speculates such tickets would cost $100,000, so you better get hunting for your old stash of Pokémon cards and hope they’re still worth something.
Living in the age of the creative genius of Elon Musk is quite fascinating. https://t.co/gCFuGTU8Zb

“We want to make it available to anyone who wants to go,” he added. If you immediately wonder how you’d pay for such a venture, then Musk suggests selling homes, getting a bank loan and even getting sponsored by the government. Yes, our government.
